Hi...books!

So I haven't been reading much lately and thought this might encourage me to do more of it. The last few things I read were some re-reads from high school English, namely The Fall of the House of Usher, Oliver Twist and The Great Gatsby. I also read A Secret Kept by Tatiana de Rosnay, which, though not my usual genre of choice, is an interesting little drama.

Next on my list are Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, as well as an addendum to, and a graphic novel tied to, Stephen King's The Dark Tower series.

Did someone say graphic novel?  :P

Welcome to the fourm, Bob. Hope you have a good time here, and can read/pass on many great titles.

Take care!

To be honest I've never read a graphic novel in my life. I loved The Dark Tower series, however, so I feel compelled to consume all content related to it.

I see! Well, if you are looking to expand on that, let me know!

Not read the Dark Tower series, yet, but I absolutely loved The Stand, so it's on my ever growing list.

A recurrent theme in the tower series is the importance of coincidence. I noticed you and IceQueen discussing Eliot's The Wasteland, which I find interesting considering one of the books in the series, as well as the two main sections in it, are titled after said poem. Could it be an omen?

Ikr? Something that stuck with me is that while I was reading the series I would take the bus to and from work. The bus always passed a certain pub which I never took much notice of. However, around the same time that a character named Eddie Dean was being introduced in the book, the pub underwent renovations. I can't remember if the name was changed, or if they just got a brighter sign, but I'll never forget looking up from my book as the bus passed by "Eddie Bodean's Pub," all lit up in neon.
