I suggest that we read the Grimm's Fairy Tales.

Cool, I'm down with that and shall start today. Been a while since I've sat down and had a good read of them.

Hey Blades, we should agree on one version to read all of us. I suggest this version: https://www.goodreads.com/ebooks/download/22917.The_Complete_Grimm_s_Fairy_Tales
Which one do you have tho?

I...definitely can't get a hold of that one. It's not even in the library system...and...why the hell is it so expensive?! xD
The library here has a hardback copy of the same version in Ice Queen's link, plus I can download it on my kindle, so my vote is for that one.

What about we read the tales according to their titles? That way we can progress similarly.

Sure thing; that sounds like a plan. I don't mean to be difficult, but I'm one of those people who finds it very hard to process and retain information from a screen. I'm an old-fashioned boy!
My edition is quite an old one (1975-78?), but I can't imagine the content would be so drastically different. In fact, what I'll do is take the details of your copy, and search out to see if there are any comparisons somewhere - it wouldn't surprise me.
Really looking forward to this!

sounds good to me.
You know even if the content id different, it would just give us room to compare as you said, and it's a good thing.
looking forward to it as well!

Absolutely this. That actually sounds like a lot of fun, comparing Blades' super rareish expensive edition to the more common one. I can't imagine they differ tremendously.
If it's just the four of us (or the three of us - does Bob want to read this one as well? It's alright if not) then we can probably just go ahead and start now, rather than wait for June. We can discuss it whenever we're done.
A~nyway, another matter at hand is the time period. I've been wondering if a month is too long (though Book of the Month sounds so catchy...)
This forum was created after I saw a book club thread tank on another forum...one of the issues I noticed was that people were expected to acquire and finish a book per week, which seems a bit unreasonable. If you're like me and get your stuff from a fiscally starved library system, you're looking at a week or so before you can acquire some books...
We could pick books and meet bi-weekly, if anyone thinks that's a better idea. We'll call it Book of the Fortnight. :p

Hmm, I might just sit this one out and focus on other stuff until it's time for the next BotM.
As a side note I think choosing one book a month seems like a good frequency. It allows for some leeway when life interferes.

One book per month sounds good to me.
I'm goign to start it today then. I think I can read one to two tales a day.

Yes, I like one book in a month as the target, as well. If we finish ahead of time, we can always check back with each other, anyway, and at least take the vote so that we have extra time to source books.
There may be times when we want to reserch things that come up, etc, and some books may have a more complex writing style so having a little extra time to play with is no bad thing.

How are people getting on, then? Personally, I'm having a whale of a time, and been enjoying reading to my niece. She's too young to understand, of course, but I like the fact that she's getting used to my voice. Also, she has little, hard-paged, 'baby books' that are her favourite to play with and is getting very good at turning pages. It's good practice for my uncle duties later!

that is really adorable. I'm glad you're enjoying it and putting it in good use!
I've been regularly reading it and leaving notes (ones i will post later) tho school is not really allowing me to read it as much as i want!

She's a delight!
No worries; we are actually ahead of time, and of course we all have lives to live.
I'll be interested to hear what you both think. Working from the titles is a good idea as well, as talking with Bunny it is clear that the order is different, etc.

Exactly, I have placed the title of tales with a quick summary of the tale and what I think about it.
